Summary
Estimating includes budgetary and contract estimates for all our selected trades. Purchasing for subcontracts and material purchase orders for all or selected trades.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review project scope of work and perform quantity surveys for selected trades.
- Format estimates in Excel and Sage.
- Analyze subcontractor proposals in all or selected trades.
- Develop and track Clarifications & Exclusions list associated with the estimate.
- Develop cost-saving ideas.
- Perform Constructability Reviews.
- Communicate with trade contractors.
- Fielding questions and responding with answers.
- Assisting in contacting subs to determine if they are bidding.
- Explain our expectations of trade contractors when working for MBI BUILDERS.
- Asking trade contractors questions when analyzing their proposals.
- Seeking cost-saving suggestions from trade contractors.
- Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders for all our selected trades.
- Track Historical Costs.
- Jobsite visits, walk-throughs, Pre-bids.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- Five years of experience in Estimating, Purchasing, Field Operations, Preconstruction, or Project Development and/or associate or bachelor’s degree in construction (Or related field)
- Estimating computer software skills required.
- Ability to develop project schedules.
- Understand the means and methods associated with field construction.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Sales or marketing ability desired.
